Soap making involves the use of a Variety of Oils and Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) and Water. Without these key ingredients, making soap isn't possible. It's called Saponification. Soft Soap, such as Liquid Soaps use Oils, Potassium Hydroxide and Water.
